About the job
Join Canva's platform team building the infrastructure behind a design tool used by over 200 million people every month. You will own backend services handling enormous scale, working closely with product and infrastructure teams from our Sydney HQ.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Design and ship backend services powering core editing and collaboration features.
- Profile and optimise systems handling millions of concurrent design sessions.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and contribute to engineering-wide standards.
- Participate in an on-call rotation shared fairly across the team.
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years professional backend engineering experience (Java, Kotlin or Go).
- Deep familiarity with distributed systems, caching and message queues.
- Experience operating services at scale in production.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Sydney; visa sponsorship available for the right candidate.
